CAMPAIGN WITH PURPOSE

Putting Passion and

Experience to Work

My campaign for Treasurer is deeply rooted in an 80-year family legacy in Oakland Township, with a focus on preserving our community's unique heritage. I am dedicated to upholding the township's rural charm, ensuring financial stability, and providing fresh, transparent, and dynamic leadership. I have no personal agenda and will approach each issue before the Board of Trustees with a well-reasoned, conservative, and pragmatic perspective.

The Board of Trustees acts as representatives of the community. It is crucial to have a robust Board made up of individuals with high integrity, dedicated to safeguarding residents against unsuitable special land uses, negative effects of development, reduction in property values, failure to conserve our history and most delicate natural features, financial mismanagement, insufficient support for paramedics and advanced life support, reluctance to staff the fire department properly, and making decisions without considering the perspectives of us, the residents, who have invested our lives in Oakland Township.

As a registered architect, small business owner, former college faculty member, and president of a community association, my expertise includes project/staff/business/construction management, budgeting, bidding, financial accounting, adherence to state and federal regulations, and investment management.

I am privileged to have received the distinguished endorsements of Oakland Township Supervisor Robin Buxar and Township Clerk Dave Mabry.

PRIORITY ISSUES

01

Financial Stewardship

We should uphold Oakland Township's AAA bond rating, ensure property taxes remain low, and avoid raising millage rates. The treasurer is entrusted with a fiduciary duty to safeguard tax revenue and avoid placing funds in poorly-rated banks or uninsured accounts.

02

Responsible Development

Let's ensure that all proposed developments align with the community values captured in our Master Plan and highlighted in the Zoning Ordinance! By doing so, we can prevent reckless proposals for special land use and protect against negative impacts. This will help us maintain the integrity, property values, and aesthetic appeal.

03

Resident Voice

Let's support the amazing input from our community through the Master Plan process! It is clear that our residents are passionate about preserving and enhancing our township's unique rural historical character while also protecting our precious natural features and viewsheds. Let's work together to make our vision a reality!

04

Funding

When revenue surpasses expenditures, I advocate for bolstering public safety by enhancing funding and staffing for the fire department, utilizing the Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance service to provide the highest standard of care, training, equipment, and treatment to our residents.
